What is your Horses Name, Age, Breed?:
Chunkys Little Skipper, nickname Skippy Doo, 5 years old quarter horse peppy san.
My old drill horse named Kita was an Appaloosa and I lost him at a practice 2 years ago. We were together for over 10 years and we grew and learned together. I loved and trusted Kita with all my heart, even with his hairless tail! It is now mine and Skippers time for our new journey. I picked skipper out when he was just a few hours old and brought him home at four months. This was his first year doing drill. For never being in front of a crowd before or performing at a Rodeo he did Awesome. He seems to really enjoy the sport of rodeo. I am so very proud of him. I feel very lucky to have him. Looking forward to our 2012 season!
How many years have you been riding?:
Since I was about five. Many years lol!
How many years have you been with the Cariboo Cowgirls?:
This will be my fourth year. Have been riding drill for nine years total.
What other equine activities do you do outside of the Cariboo Cowgirls?:
I love to ride in gymkhanas. Trail riding. I also have two other horses I really enjoy training. They are both doing well and will also do drill one day.
What do you like best about being in a drill team?:
I really enjoy the excitement of drill. Learning new manoeuvres. Riding for a crowd and hearing them cheer you on. Absolutely love the thrill of riding in our shot In the dark performances. Enjoy riding with all the girls seeing there smiles and high fiving each other after a great performance. Seeing our coach smile so proud after a great performance. Travelling camping out with the group. Sitting around our camp fire after a great day at the rodeo telling each other stories. I Love Rodeo....
